This is Rashad Ahamad, a Dhaka-based investigative journalist with over 13 years of reporting experience on a wide range of topics including environment and climate, public health, labour rights, disaster management, urban development and won migration.
Presently, he is working with ‘New Age’, an English language outspoken daily, as a staff and freelancer for several international organizations. Rashad also is an organizer, connected with professional, social and cultural organizations and voluntary activities.
Among other milestone incidents, Rashad reported from the ground of the collapsed Rana Plaza, which killed over 1,100 garment workers and injured many in 2013.

Rashad, a professional storyteller, data analyst, interviewer, fact-checker and creative writer, is highly motivated to explore the marine. He strongly desires to be the best marine journalist to deliver credible, trusted, fair and unbiased information to the readers.

Public rights, conservation, technology, policy and people are always at the intersection of his story for upholding democracy and establishing accountability of the authority. Making positive changes in society and a sustainable planet for the next generation he dreamed.

For his outstanding reporting, Rashad was awarded and won fellowships in home and abroad. He has attended the 4th United Nations South Asia Forum on Business and Human Rights held in Kathmandu, Nepal, in March 2023 and the 7th Berlin Energy Transition Dialogue 2021 held in Germany where 56 ministers and state secretaries attended across the world.
