Kafayet Ullah Chaowdhury is known as Kafayet Shakil in the Bangladeshi media. He has been doing journalism on Environment, Forest, Ocean and Climate change in Bangladeshi media for eight years.

He is the Secretary General of the Marine Journalists Network (MJN), an organization of news workers on marine ecology and ocean economy in Bangladesh.

Kefayet Ullah Chowdhury (Shakil) began his journalism career with Purbabposhcimbd.com. Then he started his career with the country’s popular broadcast news channel Somoy Television and Bangla vision Television.

He writes columns on environmental issues in various media. He holds a master’s degree in environmental science as well.
